Erich's '66 El Camino
Some photos in this album courtesy Super Chevy Magazine.
You've probably seen this car before, it was featured at Super Chevy's Suspension and Handling Challenge in 2011, and a full feature article on it was printed in February 2012. Aside from that, Erich's El Camino has been a beacon for Speetech, as he has no qualms at all with beating on it on the track. Seen at many major autocross events, the '66 cross- bread sports a Speedtech Track Time full front and rear suspension. This package features front and rear upper and lower control arms, sway bars, and coilover shocks on all four corners.
Backing the suspension and providing the whoa is a set of Wilwood brakes featuring drilled and slotted rotors. Rushforth wheels with polished lips and matte black centers round everything off.
For the interior, Procar Elite bucket seats in tan vinyl were installed to help with a little comfort and support over the factory originals. Black carpet, Auto Meter gauges, and a B&M Quicksilver shifter add a little style and keep Erich in tune with what the car is doing. Five-point harnesses by Corbeau keep everyone safely planted in the seats for autocross duties. The outside hue was sprayed Arctic White over the smooth body panels. Over all this Elky not only looks good but has proven itself again and again while making the tires sing on the race course.
A special thanks to Super Chevy for photo support!
