Optima's Search for the Ultimate Street Car Challenge
Several Speedtech suspended cars were at the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car Challenge this past Sept. 2-3 in Fontana, CA. All participants did very well in their classes against some very seasoned and stiff competition. We gathered some pics by several talented photographers who were at the event, and have them available to view on our website. Check out more by clicking here!
Nick gets invited to the Super Chevy Suspension Challenge!
Nick has been hitting the road quite a bit this year, traveling to different events and being very competitive with his home built '70 Camaro, featuring our Speedtech ExtReme suspension. With a 680 hp at the wheels LSA under the hood, 315 tires all around, and seeing this thing rip up autocross courses has brought Nick a lot of attention, even getting featured on House of Muscle online magazine. That attention has also awarded Nick an invite to the exclusive annual Super Chevy Suspension and Handling Challenge on Aug 28th, 2017! This event pits some of the top cars currently in the headlines and event winner's circles to go head to head, showing off the car's and driver's capabilities. The end result also gives each owner and car a full feature article in the magazine and on other Hot Rod network sources online. The issue doesn't hit the stands until the spring but we'll keep you posted from Nick's point of view. Check out more pics of the car by clicking here.
Speedtech Designs an Improved Transmission mount!
In the interest of always moving forward and producing the best products we can we've updated all of our full and subframe transmission crossmembers to be even stronger and more adjustable, handling near any drivetrain combination.
The tracks on the frame rails allow fore and aft movement to adjust to different transmission lengths. The cross arms are now made of thicker laser cut and CNC formed steel. Depending on how you orient it between the arms, the center "box mount" has two different top offsets for the trans mount. On the sides of the box there are multiple holes for different height and front/aft positioning. Check out these new pics! Click on the photo below to see the full size version.
Alan Rocks the Street Machine Nats in St. Paul
A big congrats to Alan Miller and his Speedtech Track Time equipped '70 Chevelle, who took 3rd place overall in the autocross, and also picked up an award for "Outstanding Car". The car and driver both performed great against some serious competition. Keep up the great work Alan!
Nick Relampagos and his 1970 Camaro
Got featured on Motor Trend's "House of Muscle"! Congrats Nick!
A big congrats to Nick R who took 10th overall out of 150 cars in the LS Fest West Grand Champion series racing. Points were added up for AutoX, Road Course, Speed Stop, and 1/4 mile Drag Racing. Considering the seasoned competition that beat him out consisting of many semi professional and professional drivers in cars that have seen many many race track laps, Nick's comparatively newbie to Pro Touring status kicked tail and was right on their heals and totally stoked to roll in in the top 10. His LSA powered and Speedtech ExtReme suspension equipped Camaro worked flawlessly and took the trophy home. We shout a big Congrats to ya Nick!

Speedtech C10 Wins 1st in class!
At the Goodguys event at Loveland, Colorado, hosted Sept. 11-13, 2015, our 1967 C10 with our new Extreme Chassis took 1st place in the Truck autocross category, and compared to the Pro Touring cars in the Street Machine class would've placed 4th overall. Not too bad for a 3900 lb pick up just out of the shop on it's maiden voyage and no real world tuning. Congrats to pilot Jay Weir who coerced the truck around the track with ease and skill.
Elky Rocks Goodguys!
Congrats to our customer Erich Monteith, who entered the Pro Class at the end of March 2015, at the Pleasanton California Goodguys' Autocross. According to RideTech News, "This was Erich's first win running the Goodguys' truck class in his 66 El Camino. This El Camino has seen a few upgrades in the suspension and driveline since it rolled out of the factory in 66. It finds power from a 9:1 compression ratioed 383 flowing through some 190cc AFR heads. The 383 is mated to a SS-700 Keisler 5 speed that's sending the magic to an Eaton packed, 3:73 geared, 12bolt axle. The car keeps the tires aligned thanks to Speedtech front and rear components. Erich keeps it all smooth and planted with RideTech HQ CoilOvers on all the way around. Traction is highly assisted thanks to the grip of the Falken Azenis 275/30/18s on the front and 295/35/18 on the rear. We expect to hear more about Erich and the El Camino as the season progresses." Congrats Erich!!

A big congratulations to JF Launier of JF Kustoms for pushing forward on all the hard work to bring home the 2014 Ridler award! The announcement was made at Michigan's Cobo Hall where the full custom 1964 "Rivision" Buick Riviera went up against 7 other nominees to take first place overall. The winning didn't stop there though, JF also took home the coveted "Builder Award", given to the top custom car builder of the year. Photos by Classic Car News and My Ride Is Me
Rivision features a completely worked over body, much of the panels were hand made. JF's vision was to create a car that could've been seen as a concept car back in the early 60's. The car features incredible dedication to being unique and in executing great detail, from logos formed into sheet metal to one off billet parts to totally custom three tone wheels, and everything in between.
Under the hood is an 850 hp turbo charged LS engine featuring our ATS Road Race oil pan. What makes it unique is the placing of the turbo system behind the rear seat in the trunk. All this power is channeled through a T56 6 speed transmission. This rolling yellow sculpture rides on a Speedtech Performance 1st gen Camaro subframe featuring our high clearance control arms, sway bar, and ATS AFX tall spindles, and out back uses Speedtech A Body suspension. This car isn't meant to be a "Show Queen", JF is not only the builder he's the owner and plans to beat on the car at Goodguys autocross events as well as shooting for 200 mph top speed runs at Bonneville. With Speedtech tackling suspension duties, Rivision is sure to do well at the show and on the track.
Way to go JF, your hard work deserves the awards!
