Anyone installing anything in a Tri-5 other than an inline six knows it's a tight fit at best. We've taken the big hammer method out of the equation by creating a smooth firewall with a wider recess that works perfectly with our ExtReme chassis and LS engines. Those doing engine swaps using factory frames can also take advantage of the extra room this kit provides, opening the engine recess area to 3.5" deep, the top of the opening is 3" down from the top of the firewall, the inner width is 21.5" and the outer width is 25.5". This kit does require some fabrication and welding to install.
T-56 Tunnel Cover Kit
Our ExtReme Chassis' low ride height and late model drive trains require a slightly raised drive line tunnel in the Tri-5 cars. Creating a custom one-off tunnel can be very time consuming and costly. Now with Speedtech's simple and effective design you can avoid the hassle and expense of a custom fabricated new tunnel. Our tunnel allows room for larger transmissions like the T-56, allows the ability to choose different shifter locations, and it works great for use with an aftermarket automatic shifter where a flat mounting surface is required. It also includes a rear trunk plate that creates more room for suspension travel. The Tri-5 tunnel cover is constructed from laser cut 16 gauge sheet metal and all bends are CNC computer controlled for consistency and a great fit.
