This beautiful 1968 Nova came to us first in June of 2013. Recently purchased by it's new owner, it featured a fairly well done restoration with a few upgrades. The interior was restored stock as was the supension. Under the hood was a warmed over 383 small block backed by a T-5 transmission. Wheels and tires were 225 and 245 BFGs on 17x7" polished Torque Thrust wheels. The real beauty of this car is it's gorgeous deep Red metallic paint.
Once we were handed the keys we removed all the stock suspension, exhaust manifolds, and 2 1/4" dual exhaust. We then installed our Road Assault front suspension including our tubular upper and lower control arms, billet tie rod adjuster sleeves, Viking hybrid double adjustable Coilover Shocks, and tubular Sway Bar. Wilwood 6 piston calipers wrapped around 13" rotors wrapped up the front. Out Back we ditched the leaf springs and installed our famous Torque Arm rear suspension which incorporates articulink trailing arms, Viking double adjustable Coilover Shocks, and an adjustable panhard bar. Wilwood's 4 piston calipers on 13" rotors keep the factory 12 bolt under control. Our stainless headers made it onto the 383 and a new 3" dual exhaust system installed to handle the spent gassses.
When we were done the car had a killer stance and fantastic handling and braking. After about 6 months, the Nova came back to us to finish the job. This time around it was time to get serious. First step was a minitub and narrowing the 12 bolt so we could tuck some 325s up in there on some 18x12" wheels. Next up was removing the front subframe for cleaning and a repaint, while the firewall got smoothed, holes filled, and sprayed a contrasting shade of body color red with a satin clear. The 383 and T5 were set aside to make room for a 525 hp LS3 crate motor and backed by a T56 6 speed transmission. While we were in there we also converted it to rear steer power rack and pinion.
This sweet Nova is a work in progress, so hang tight, more photos are coming soon...
